Running Again

I'm pleased to announce that after a long and mostly unexplained hiatus, I have finally gotten back to doing some consistent training again. I'm once again at the point where I can run six miles or more in the blistering heat while maintaining a comfortable, negative-splitting pace. That, to me, signifies that the motor is running and, if consistency is upheld, I should be well on my way.

Before we start recapping the runs again, let us do a brief synopsis of why the running stopped: after cramming too many big races into a short period of time, I came down with tendinitis in my adductor last spring. I kept in decent enough shape and rehabbed myself well enough to submit and *ok* performance at Blue Ridge, but I was feeling somewhat satisfied at the time and clearly needed a break. Around October, my business started surging ahead, and as of this writing that surge continues (thankfully).

In January, I proposed to Adrienne and she said yes. I am a lucky man. We'll be married in November.

Add all this together and you essentially get an explanation that says, "I've had a lot going on."

Now, however, I'm back, hungry and motivated as ever to prove to myself all over again that I can race and race well. It's going to be a long road out of the darkness but I am well-prepared.

Stay tuned.
